Sunday, May 4th is Parents of Preemies Day, a global day to recognize the courage and commitment it takes to stay strong and resilient when a premature birth turns a family’s world upside down.
You can help celebrate Parents of Preemies Day in several ways.
- Organize and host a Parents of Preemies Day event in your local community.
- Help spread the word online
- Support or attend a local Parents of Preemies Day event in your community or local NICU
- Buy some Proud Preemie Parent (and Grandparent) gear and show your preemie prideJoin their Twitter chat on May 4th
Until May 4th, 2014, join them on Facebook and celebrate being a parent of a preemie all year long!

- Congratulations! Your baby is beautiful!
- You’re stronger than you know, and your baby is strong like you.
- If you’d like someone to be there with you in the NICU, I’d be happy to just sit with you.
- Can I see a picture?
- When can I come and visit him/her?
- After this experience, your bond with your baby is going to be so strong.
- Prematurity is not your fault and it’s really unfair.
- What can I do during cold and flu season to keep your family safe?
- Cry if you need to; I can be strong for you when you need to take a break.
- You’re a great mom! / You’re a great dad!
