Twin Pregnancy Confessions: The Good, The Bad, and The Funny

Twin Pregnancy Confessions: The Good, The Bad, and The Funny

Curious about the twin pregnancy experience? See what our twin mom community calls their best twin pregnancy confessions.

Twin pregnancy itself can seem like a bit of a joke sometimes, right? I mean, we are huge and uncomfortable, gestating not one but TWO humans in our bellies. That’s bound to bring about some awkward, embarrassing, and often hilarious confessions. Let’s take a look at some of our Twiniversity community twin pregnancy confessions. When you’re done, take a look at our delivery day confessions and twin moms’ grossest confessions, too!

Hilarious Twin Pregnancy Confessions

I love to hear all the funny things other twin moms have gone through during their twin pregnancy. Couldn’t we all use a laugh?

I got stuck in a public bathroom where the door opened inwards. My belly was so big that I had to sit on the toilet, lean back, then open the door 🤣

Charlotte D.

Confession is that I’ve had more gas than ever before, pretty sure I fart in my sleep! Tehe!

Hannah S.

I ate 3 vanilla ice cream cones every night. One for each of us 😁

Leanna E.

I forgot my phone in the work fridge…multiple times. And then I was too tired to walk down the hallway to retrieve it and sent a coworker 🤣

Krista G.

The doc saying (after I pushed and pushed and had just delivered baby A) “ok let’s do it again” and me telling him – it’s ok, she can stay inside.

Amber H.

I ate powdered donuts and McDonald’s French fries for weeks! It’s all I could keep down!

I am 5 ft tall, and after about 30 weeks I couldn’t drive. My car did not have pedal extenders and I have very little legs my seat had to be too far back to accommodate my belly!

Carrie M.

Me: Had to run to the washroom. Can’t hold it in! Husband: That’s your run? Like you’re running right now?

Soolee T.

I got stuck in my bathtub. Completely wedged in. Husband had to come pull me out.

So. Much. Nausea.

It sure seems that double the baby can often equal double the nausea. See what some of our fellow twin moms had to say about nausea during their twin pregnancy.

I had severe all-day nausea and vomiting for 14w, only gained 20lbs total, and worked as a floor nurse doing 12hr night shifts right up until I was induced at 36w for pre-eclampsia. But 6 pushes total and my 2 boys arrived!

Kritsie W.

I was so sick that I actually lost 30 pounds before I got something to help with the morning sickness. Only gained 40 pounds back so I was only 10 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight at delivery. Never had any contractions that I know of and delivered 11 pounds of babies at 38 weeks via C-section as baby A was head up with his legs in a L shape side to side. I went home 10 pounds below pregnancy weight. So, I never had the 2 things every woman worries about, weight gain and labor. And ended up with 2 healthy babies.

Jamie H.

The absolute worst 8ish months ever for me. If I would have had my twins first, the pregnancy alone would have made me never want kids ever again. (The pregnancy was apparently the easiest part smh) Threw up at least 3 times a day the first trimester, even water made me nauseous.

Heather M.

I was nauseous the entire time and couldn’t eat anything sweet or fried – which was good because I didn’t gain much weight. I couldn’t tolerate strong smells and I still can’t wear my old perfumes.

Ralu L.

To be honest, I wasn’t nauseous often, but when it did happen, it was bad and came out of nowhere. Twice I had to pull over and throw up on the side of the busy road out my car door and once I threw up in someone else’s desk trash can when I couldn’t make it all the way to the bathroom. I was so embarrassed.

Oh, the Pain!

Pregnancy can be downright painful. The level of discomfort with twin pregnancy can be unreal and many women aren’t prepared for it.

I was the most miserable I had ever been in my life, but so worth it 🤷‍♀️

Melody M.

My back hurt so much especially the third trimester, no matter how many pillows I used.

Medina M.

The pain. The unimaginable pain. Often told my husband it felt like my pubic bones were breaking or something. Couldn’t roll over in bed. To stand was excruciating. Put pants or shoes on? Practically impossible because of the pain. By 29 weeks, I had preeclampsia. Preterm labor at 32 weeks. Emergency csection at 35 weeks. My twin pregnancy was absolute hell.

Kelsey L.

By back hurt so bad.

Julie T.

I hated being pregnant. My first 2 pregnancies were m/c and stillborn so I couldn’t enjoy my twin pregnancy no matter how much I wanted to, it was just survival mode. I had a couple of bad bleeds at 9 and 11 weeks, then by 26 weeks I was already huge and they kept pressing against my aorta and making me faint so I wasn’t able to go anywhere alone or drive and needed a wheelchair if I went out. I was always stuck at home and lonely, my entire body hurt so bad with so much swelling, PSD, and knee joint pain that I would cry whenever I had to get up.

It’s Not All Bad

Those of us who have been through twin pregnancy know that it’s not all bad. Some of our twin pregnancy confessions are actually good. Have you ever heard anyone working in customer service tell you that no one calls in just to say “good job” when they talk about their job? Yeah, that’s why we tend to hear more bad stories than good.

Make no mistake, there are plenty of great stories about twin pregnancy out there. Oh look, here’s some of them now.

My twin pregnancy confessions- Other than morning sickness every morning for the first 3 months, I had a super easy pregnancy, stayed active as long as I could, was a super healthy eater… I still wouldn’t do it again.

Christina E.

My twin pregnancy confessions are that as a single mom by choice I had a hard time getting pregnant so I moved to donor eggs (and sperm). I transferred two embryos and I had a boy and a girl. I LOVE that I had the first boy in our family in 52 years. Both of my male cousins had 2 girls and my twin sister had a girl. I also love that I had twins and get to experience being a mom of two in one shot.

Laura W.

The gratitude. Currently 37w and so very uncomfortable but I’m so thankful for a strong body, healthy twins, and an amazing support system of family and friends.

Jennifer K.

The feeling I had when they put those miracles on my chest.

Amber H.

I never had any contractions as far as I know. Every time I thought I had one, it was a head-banging into the side of my uterus. We did a scheduled section at 35+6.

Twin Pregnancy Can Be Fun, Too!

I loved when I started showing. Tight tops and dresses for the win! Sometimes I miss my big belly!

Katie S.

Being pregnant with my twins was the best pregnancy out of all of them. I didn’t have to work, my eldest was away at school (Hello Netflix!) and I got to board first when flying (especially when I wore my not-so-subtle I’m pregnant with two shirt… 🫤). Also in my husband’s family, where someone was always pregnant (19 grandkids in 10 years)- I felt a little superior because I carried the only set of twins. (Sorry… not sorry… lol) #bestpregnancyever

Erica B.

My confession is kinda sweet, we were talking about it the other day. My stepson was 15 years old at the time already a lean 6 foot 2 and still growing. All he did was eat lol (still does haha). So like clockwork at 2am I would wake up hungry, go to the kitchen and make full on meals or charcuterie boards and would make two one for me one for him. He would join me every night “so what are we eating tonight”. We spent so many nights just talking about life. We both miss those nights.

Nicole E.

If you stop and think about it, twin pregnancy is remarkable. Who knew our bodies could form 2 little lives at once? I know I was completely in awe of my body when my twins were born. Twin pregnancy definitely gives you a new respect for your body, doesn’t it?
