Before we delve into this tandem stroller be aware that we would not recommend this particular stroller for newborn twins. However, it might be a great stroller for your family if you are looking for a tandem stroller with slightly older twins or if you have a newborn and a slightly older child.

The pros of the Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight

There are a whole bunch of reasons to love this Joovy stroller. Let’s take a look at some of the best features of the Caboose Too Ultralight.

45 pound capacity per seat. That’s 90 pounds total this stroller can hold.

Compact fold makes it easy to store or throw in the trunk of just about any car.

Attached snack tray. This little tray includes two cup holders and a space for their crackers or fruit snacks.

Reclining seats make this a great stroller for naps on the go. Choose from 3 different levels of recline. Use the biggest recline for your baby as young as 3 months old!

Lightweight! At just 23.5 pounds, this is the lightest tandem stroller on the market. It should be a breeze to get up and down your porch steps or in and out of the trunk! This is often a HUGE concern for twin parents.

Removable rear seat option gives an older child the ability to stand and ride. I know this is a big selling point for many parents with an infant and a toddler.

Parent organizer is included to hold your water bottle, keys, even a zippered pouch for a phone, wallet, or a couple of snacks. We really like that this is included and not a separate purchase as with some brands.

Adjustable footrests can be positioned to keep your little one comfortable.

Disney friendly! Yup! Book your trip and ditch the rental fees with this double stroller. It is definitely within the guidelines of their theme parks.

Easy setup. Parents report this stroller is so easy to assemble that it only takes around 10 or 15 minutes to go from box to walk. That’s pretty quick, especially for a twin stroller.

Large canopy with an extension to cover your rear-seated child. We love that this large canopy extends to protect both kiddos from the sun. Do anyone else’s kiddos complain loudly and constantly the second the sun hits their face? No? Just mine? Hmm.

Price. We all want to-no NEED to know about the price. All the features in the world don’t matter much if you can’t afford the stroller, right? This one is moderately priced at $290. Not bad for a tandem double. If you are looking for something a little bit cheaper, check out the Baby Trend Sit and Stand Double

The cons Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight

As you might have guessed, there are some features we would love to see for twin families that this stroller just doesn’t have. We wouldn’t be giving you a clear and full picture without highlighting these features. Keep in mind that a con for one family might not matter to another.

One car seat. So this stroller would work for twins that don’t need a car seat. It would work for a parent with a newborn and a 1-year-old. It would NOT work for newborn twins. You can only use one car seat with this tandem stroller. The car seat adapter is included so it might be a good option for a family with two kiddos close in age.

Legroom is lacking. As with many tandem strollers, legroom is a concern. To be fair, it isn’t really too bad and we’ve seen worse in this department.

Storage space. If you put a toddler in the rear seat, be prepared to lose your basket storage. Yep. Those little legs will hang directly into the storage basket. This is a common complaint with tandem strollers and the Joovy Caboose Ultralight is no exception.

Just one snack tray. The snack tray only attaches to the front seat. It’s great that it can hold two cups and some snacks. But this requires one kid to pass snacks back to the other. Without dropping them. Not the worst thing in the world, but not super helpful either. I know, I know, we have to encourage our twins to share. I completely agree, but there’s a time and a place for each lesson in life, right? It would be better if each seat had its own tray, don’t you think?

Accessories Available

As with all double strollers, you are probably curious about what accessories are available and what families really have to say about them. Let’s take a look at a couple of the very best accessories for this tandem stroller.

Rain coverage! This Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight rain cover will keep your little ones nice and dry. It is vented and a perfect fit. Don’t let a little rain ruin your day!

Handlebar cover. No one wants to look down and see the stroller handle falling apart. And yet, that seems to happen over time. This handlebar cover zips into place easily to make the handle look brand spanking new again! It’s incredibly easy to install.

Is This Tandem Stroller Right for You?

We would love to tell you yes, this is the one for you. Or even no, this won’t work for your family. Unfortunately, we can’t really do that. Each situation is different and what works for our families might not work for yours.

Overall the Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight is a solid stroller. It might be a great match for your family if you have slightly older twins or an infant and an older child. Unfortunately, it won’t be super helpful in the first few months with twins since it only takes one car seat, or once your twins are big enough that their feet hang down since you will lose that storage space.

If you have twins that are in that sweet spot or two little ones close in age, this might be just what you need. You can also check out the Joovy Twin Roo+ or the Joovy ScooterX2 if you love the brand but not this particular model. Happy shopping!
