Six siblings that all share a birthday would be sextuplets, right? Not in the case of the Kosinski family. Craig and Carrie Kosinski have three sets of twins all born on February 28th. It is nearly statistically improbable to have three sets of twins all born on the same day but Craig and Carrie are living proof that it can happen!
Back in 2013, a friend of Carrie’s contacted her through Facebook to see if Carrie and Craig would want to adopt her unborn child – as Carrie could not naturally have any of her own. It turns out one baby was twins. The Kosinski’s happily welcomed Adalynn and Kenna when they were born on February 28th, 2014.
The following year, the same woman reached out to them to say she could no longer care for her other, older set of twins — JJ and CeCe — so the couple welcomed them into their family as well. (They were also born on Feb. 28 but in 2013).
Then last year, Carrie gave birth to twin girls, Clarissa and Karraline, via in-vitro fertilization on, you guessed it…February 28th! “All three sets of twins were [born] by emergency C-section,” Carrie, 28, of Yorkville, Wisconsin, tells PEOPLE. “I get that question a lot. ‘Did you plan it? It was a C-section. It must have been planned.’ No. Mine was at 24 weeks. I did not plan on them being born at 24 weeks.”
Carrie and Craig are currently in the process of adopting JJ, CeCe, Adalynn, Kenna. They wanted to adopt the four together to keep the adoption fees lower. Adoption can be extremely expensive as the family is learning.
