biggest twin registry fails

Trying to put together your twin baby registry? See where other twin parents missed the mark on their twin registry: either with items they overlooked or investments they made that weren’t worth it in the end!

Trying to piece together what baby gear you actually need for twins can feel overwhelming! Whether you’re figuring out the best double stroller and car seat system or deciding which items you need one versus two of, there are a lot of extra scenarios to consider.

That’s why we enlisted the support of other twin parents who’ve been there!

See what other twin moms and dads shared about twin gear that they wish they would have put on their registry and also items they had on there that they didn’t really end up needing.

We recently asked our twin parent community…

What was your biggest twin registry fail? Something you went all-in on and never used…or something you skipped that you definitely needed?

And here’s what twin parents had to say:

“So many fails haha! We for sure could have used a bottle washer and we ended up getting two Twin Z pillows during the newborn stage. I wish we had put those on our twin registry. We also never really ended up using any of the baby carriers we got or the Brest friend nursing pillow. I think I used that nursing pillow one time. I ended up using a single boppy or no pillow at all eventually. Perhaps it was because I only ended up nursing one baby since the other twin wanted nothing to do with breastfeeding..” – Paige

Twin carrier. It wasn’t technically “all in” but it wasn’t cheap either! Didn’t love how the boys sat in it with their hips and when I did get them in there one would always want out.” – Jackie

A double stroller. We already had two single strollers (a big “system” combo and a smaller travel stroller) so we skipped the real tandem stroller, hoping to save space. But we eventually got one and it’s so much easier to have the ability to move them both together.” – Jennifer

Weego twin carrier definitely not worth it. My lower back pain made it impossible to use after my c-section. Even if I put it on just sitting with them, they would always hit their heads together and they would be uncomfortable also.” – Jessica

“So many misses! Never used the bathtub starter thing. I bathed them in the sink until they were like a year old haha. A single Boppy pillow was totally useless for me. If you’re breastfeeding twins, highly recommend the Twin Z instead — game changer. Single bottle warmer = nope. Get the double bottle warmer. We kept the girls on the same schedule, so we always needed bottles warmed at the same time. Wipe dispenser / wipe warmer… absolutely not. No one has time for that. You’re ripping wipes out as fast as humanly possible.” – Cassidy

“Weego twin carrier. I could never get them situated correctly and what felt like safely, so it didn’t get used after multiple attempts.” – Stephanie

“A bottle washer. I didn’t put it on my registry and ended up buying one when my twins were 4 months. Game changer!” – Melissa

“Bottle washer/dryer/sanitizer combo. I sooooo wish we would have done it. The amount of bottles you wash in a day with twins is just too much. Add pump parts to that?! Sheeeeesh.” – Emma

“Double bassinet as there is a weight limit and are out of it at 2 months!” – Amanda

“Weego twin carrier. Everyone I knew with twins swore I needed it. Ended up needing a c-section and had horrible back pain after. Once I got over all that and could use it one twin would lean to the left and the other to the right in it.” – Allie

“Should have bought a bottle washer and didn’t need a tummy time pillow (a rolled up towel was just fine!).” – Bellkisschoen

“Diaper Genie…I’m thankful no one bought it off our registry because I thought it was useless…Same with the wipe warmer!” – Amanda

“I skipped the bottle warmer and had to buy one. Thought it was silly and it’s actually pretty crucial.” – Brie

“Jools. (Melt emoji). And a carrier I cold never figure out even with the “how to” video.” – Laura
